7 goal thriller goes the wrong way

Leek hosted a strong Bloxwich side, the game last year ended in a tight 4-4 draw.

Leek started the game the stronger of the sides with a strong press. This eventually lead to Leek taking the lead from a short corner when the ball fell to Tom Povey at the back post finding the backboard with a very intelligent finish. The away side drew level with a goalmouth scramble.

The home side regained the lead with an inch perfect pass to find Morgan Rhead, who passed the ball past the Bloxwich keeper at the near post. The first half ended 2-2 when the Bloxwich forward gained the ball through a lucky deflection and managed to squeeze the ball past George Neale in the Leek goal.

The second half started with the away side starting strongly, taking the lead through a quick break and passing the ball round the Leek goalkeeper. Bloxwich extended their lead through another quick counter attack. Leek made the last 10 minutes very exciting when Richard Vincent found the far corner of the goal with a smart finish. The game ended 4-3 to the visitors with Leek unlucky to not get a point at least from the game.

Leeks man of the match went to Richard Vincent who had a really good game in the centre of midfield. Controlling the pace of the game and distributing the game really well.
