Over 200 players turn out for hockey this weekend...

Whilst it may have been a mixed bag of results for Saturday League Hockey, across the weekend, LHC had 210 hockey players out representing the club. This is hugely promising for the future and during difficult times shows what a supportive and successful structure the club has. This is largely due to a hardworking management and volunteer unit that has seen the club develop a successful coaching and playing structure which even during difficult Covid restrictions is providing a thriving player base.
This is not without its challenges however as the mens's 1st and 2nd teams found it tough going in their respective leagues on Saturday, picking up disappointing losses. Two stand out results were wins for the 3rds and 6ths.
The ladies 1st and 2nds both picked up good wins with the 3s and 4s coming 2nd best in their encounters.
Sunday was a great achievement for the club with over 50 juniors ranging from under 8s to under 12s attending a tournament at Stone Hockey Club. There were some fantastic results and some great hockey played with all teams winning most of their games. Within the under 8 teams over half were new to the sport and had never played a match outside of training before!
