On Sunday 3rd September Leek Hockey Club held their 2nd annual Boots Run. They welcomed nearly 150 runners to the club from ages 4 upwards, running either a 2km, 5km or 9 mile route. The weather was fabulous (if a little too warm!) for the runners but they were all treated to food and refreshments back at the club and entertained with bouncy castles and live music into the afternoon.
The event is held in memory of club member and friend Jackie 'Boots' Machin and raises funds for the Dougie Mac Hospice. This year it has raised £2895 which takes it to over £5000 of funds raised over the first two years.
A fantastic amount of volunteers and sponsors helped to make this event so successful and the team would like to extend a huge thank you to all involved. The event will be on 1st September next year.
Results from the 5km and 9mile race are below, well done all x
