After a busy summer of club signings, Leek Hockey Club managed to welcome Laurando Davis from Barbados in arguably the most exciting exchanges of the summer.
Laurando has already experienced an incredible career in the sport by playing as a Barbadian international. He has represented his country on a multitude of different occasions, most notably in the final of the Central American and Caribbean games and in the second round of the World League.
Not only has Laurando come to play for the club and help us to progress, but he has also began voluntarily helping to coach at the majority of the training sessions for Leek at both junior and senior level. He is often seen at both the Badgers and the men’s training sessions and regularly gives up his evenings to contribute to the club.
Furthermore, the former Barbadian international is helping at schools around the local area to try and grow the sport by making it popular amongst local children.
By doing this, Brough Park Leisure Centre have decided to sponsor him with a free gym membership.
Everybody at Leek Hockey Club is wishing Laurando the best of luck here in Leek and thanking him for the work that he has already done.
