Leek mens 5ths first home game of the season resulted in a hard fought 1-0 victory against Market Drayton 3rds. A faster more organised start to the game from Leek meant they made it to the break 0-0 and Leek passed/ran more in the second half.
Market Drayton had plenty of the ball as the game went back and forth in the second half though it was Leek who scored the only goal from a break started by Franklin to Morgan who then teed up Brooks to smash the ball into the net. Market Drayton pushed for an equaliser but were kept out by some good goalkeeping and resolute defending. Despite both teams having chances neither could add to their tally and at the final whistle Leek had done enough to secure their first 3 points of the season, built on a continued foundation of hard work across the team."
