The team played away today against Burton.

Leek didn't start off their usual funky selves with the first half settling into a slower pace for Leek than usual. Never the less, Leek continued to try to get their vibe but were met by constant interceptions throughout the first half leaving the score line nil nil.

After a head shake at half time and some positive coaching and motivation, Leek started the second half strong and were soon back to playing their game. Some skilful hockey and consistent passing from the midfield resulted in Leek driving the ball into the D with numerous shots on goal. We were back! Leek continued to press and work the ball around Burtons defence. In the 39th minute, Frodsham carefully smashed the ball into the back of the net off a penalty corner, taking Leek into the lead.

Shortly after, Leek won another penalty corner, this time a shot from the top of the D went slightly wide but some fantastic positioning from Wright and a nifty placed stick saw the ball tapped into the corner of the goal, taking Leek further ahead.

Leek continued to press and turn the ball round for the remainder of the half, maintaining the majority of possession and showing some fantastic teamwork.

Leek walked away with their heads held high with a further 3 points and another win.

Man of the Match went to Wright for her speedy runs, amazing positioning and her cleverly placed goal.
