After an amazing 7-1 win last week , the question was could Leek follow it up with another solid performance against this weeks visitors West Bridgford?
Leek had alot of the ball to start off with , as West Bridgford sat off. Ben White lead the line well moving into space and turning strong. Although no major chances occurred Leek were by far the better team. Leek were searching for that first goal and I think you could tell as some simple mistakes and turn overs started to creep in to their play.
However, Ben white turned strong at the shoulder of the circle. His pass come shot found Joe Priestman whos one touch shot slammed past the keeper. 4 goals in 4 games for the inform striker. Leek managed to double their lead with one minute before half time. A counter attack started by Nathan Smith found youngster Ben Mellor. Who calmly went around the keeper and scored from a tight angle .
Leek knew the 2nd half was key for them. They didn't want to be drawn into a scrappy game. Hats off to the defence as Adam knott in goal hardly had to make save. Leeks third goal came from some individual brilliance from Frdddie Bell who cut in from the left , rounded the keeper and slotted the ball home. With one minute to go Nathan Smith's ariel set up Ben White who managed to beat the keeper for pace and calmly walked the ball over the line.
4-0 was the final score and Leek remain top of the league ?
