1st Defeat of the season

After two points dropped on the road last week at Loughborough Town, Leek wanted to get back to winning way this time at home to newly promoted Repton.

The game started well and at a fast pace. Leek's passing was good and they were moving Repton around. It was then the same from the away team. With an early attack down the right saw them enter the circle and managed to put the ball on a leek foot to get the 1st penalty corner of the game. The shot was on target and a rare mistake from Keeper Adam Ford saw the away team take the lead.

Leek did manage to get a grip back on the game with brilliant midfield runs from Rich Cordon and Dan O'Neill, however that final ball was just not coming off. Leek managed to win their first penalty corner of the game just a few moments later, Rich Cordon's drag flick was well saved and Repton Cleared their lines.

Repton managed to double their lead before half time. A foot by the Repton forward was not seen by both umpires and Repton squeezed the ball past the Leek keeper to make it two.

In the 2nd half the game opened and leek had a few chances. Ash Cunningham found himself one v one against the Repton keeper however his shoot found the side of the goal. A superb ariel by Rich Cordon found Dan O'Neill in plenty of space. Again a 1 v 1 against the Repton Keeper who this time managed to save Dan's Shot. As the game went on Leek's legs started to go and Repton found themselves 3-0 up and this is how the game finished. 3-0 was not a fair reflection of the game but Leek failed to make their chances count.
